Empowering Education Through Ethical AI and Distributed Innovation Digital Education Consulting (DEC) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the ethical integration of artificial intelligence in education, research, and workforce development. Founded and directed by Dr. Moustapha Diack, DEC operates through a pioneering Distributed Consulting Model that connects experts worldwide—educators, data scientists, policymakers, and technologists—to co-create AI-ready digital ecosystems for sustainable growth and learning equity. DEC’s work extends beyond research and infrastructure to community impact. In 2024, it hosted the landmark AI4STEM Conference in Kaolack, Senegal,bringing together educators, innovators, and government leaders to launch Africa’s first AI for Development and STEAM Education Network. This event laid the foundation for the annual AI4STEAM Summit, now a signature platform for collaboration on ethical AI, open education, and digital transformation across the Global South. Guided by the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI), DEC continues to shape policies, build capacity, and design intelligent learning systems that ensure AI serves humanity—not the other way around.

As a flagship initiative of the Digital Education Consulting (DEC) Group, it serves as both a research community and an infrastructure hub supporting educators, policymakers, and innovators. Rooted in the Senegalese value of “Teranga”—hospitality and collective responsibility—the organization unites over 900 members to co-create ethical, culturally grounded AI solutions. Its work spans AI literacy, open science, and workforce development, aligning with UNESCO’s AI Competency Framework and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through its Distributed Consulting Model, Teranga-IA connects regional experts and partners to design scalable AI ecosystems that strengthen learning, governance, and innovation across Africa and beyond.

AI4STEAM is an international conference and school network dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence and STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) for sustainable development. Founded under the leadership of Dr. Moustapha Diack and coordinated through the Digital Education Consulting (DEC) Group, AI4STEAM connects universities, technical schools, and innovation hubs across Africa, the United States, and Europe to foster collaboration, research, and capacity building. The annual AI4STEAM Conference serves as a flagship event uniting educators, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore responsible and inclusive uses of AI in STEM teaching, workforce readiness, and digital transformation. Sessions highlight innovations in AI-augmented learning, open educational resources, and smart campus ecosystems, with a special focus on the Global South. Through its STEM School Network, AI4STEAM supports partnerships that strengthen institutional readiness for AI integration—promoting teacher training, doctoral research, and entrepreneurship within a globally connected learning community.
