Project Mission: To uphold Dr. Joseph Meyinsse’s commitment to educational excellence by fostering the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching practices throughout Louisiana. This initiative will showcase innovative methodologies that cater to diverse student needs and enhance teaching efficiency.

Dr. Joseph Appolinaire Meyinsse, an esteemed professor and administrator at Southern University, passed away on November 3, 2013, at the age of 60. Born in Accra, Ghana, he pursued an extensive education in the U.S., obtaining degrees in mathematics and computer science, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education. His roles at Southern University included Chair of the Mathematics Department and Dean of the Graduate School. Dr. Meyinsse was celebrated for his leadership and commitment to education. His memorial included a viewing and service in Baton Rouge, with contributions directed to a scholarship fund in his name.

This Project is housed through the Doctoral Program in Science/Math education at Southern University A&M College. Its leadership includes Alumni, International partners in the field of AI and SMED doctoral students conducting research in the field of AI.
